Spirit of Resistance

Maybe President Trump's slashing of the social safety net, rejection of refugees, and deportation of our neighbors isn't keeping you up at night.  But if it is, and especially if the news from Washington is gnawing away at your very soul, your conscience, your spirit, whatever you like to call it -- what makes you, you, and connects you to greater meaning and purpose -- then it's time for a beer (or a handmade pretzel).  And it's time to start figuring out together how we can sustain our spirit in the time of Trump, and do that by creating community, flexing our spiritual muscles, and strengthening our collective ability to resist injustice over the long haul (this is a marathon folks, not a sprint).  So join us Wednesday to meet others who care about what you care about and are struggling to figure out how to stay hopeful and engaged and make change.

We'll be talking over some of the suggestions that Henri Nouwen offers in his book Peacework: Prayer Resistance Community and exploring what feeds our soul.  And then we might stay for trivia night at 7.
