We invite your support for those risking everything to escape persecution and violence in their home countries.  Asylum seekers, who long deeply for a safer, better life for themselves and their families, are in dire need of our help.  In our congregation alone, we have five individuals in the asylum seeking legal process.  They pay thousands of dollars for lawyers to assemble the evidence documenting their harrowing stories, and then wait months, years even, for their day in court.  And now, though our congregants are following all the rules, they are being targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Asylum seekers are, by definition, the bravest, grittiest, and most tenacious folks in this hurting world, willing to travel across the globe with no guarantee that their bid for safety and stability will be granted.  They exude hope, and they are an inspiration to the people of St. Luke's.
